Big Summer

June 19, 2021 ~ wordancerblog ~ 7 Comments

Summer to me is a wide open space. I am a teacher and that means I have eleven weeks to play, wonder, and wander. I am grateful for this. I need this - especially this year.

In summer, it always feels like we could catch the moon, right? Sometimes it feels like I have on these long golden nights with travel and family and so much fun. I love this poem and your whole post!

I am anxiously awaiting a beach trip – three more weeks! I think we all need a big summer this year. I love how you personified the moon in your poem – dancing and skipping along with you! Here’s to big summers!

Summer is flying by already and I feel like it just started. I love how your poem imagines how you could reach the moon. Wishing you many more easy days and trips to the moon.

I loved the endless days of summer as a child. No beach to sit beside, but I certainly made trips to the library and spent long afternoons reading in the cool of a room air conditioner (our only one) in our family room. Happy times remembering all of us together in the same room.

I am halfway done week two of 7 and it is whipping by! This is another quiet summer for me, yet the days are going too quickly!

I love your “vow to savor” summer. Beautiful. This post is full of possibility, joy, and enthusiasm about summer. Have a blessed time in Maine! It sounds so great! I love the golden August moon poem you shared too. I could picture being on those curvy roads at night. Beautiful poem.
