Sacred Rest

Walking through the winter gauntlet that is January and February, I have been on the hunt for rest, not just sleep but rest – physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and sensory.

    I can relate to the poem and to the wish for rest. As I get older deep sleep becomes more and more precious.

    I remember learning that rest – sleep, actually – is when brain repairs itself after the exertion of the day. We need it so, and aren’t so good at enabling it…your poem and your routines speak so beautifully to this need. Rest IS sacred.
