This celebration of creativity of a young artist was a pleasure to read. I cheer for the safe, inviting and inspiring space your Wonder Studio is.

Thank you, Terje. I keep trying to hold onto joy, and children are a good source for that!

Laila works instinctively like an artist! We have so much to learn from her. I love that she declared that she loves the process itself – and then later you noted, “She often finds things I didn’t know I had. ” – what a fabulous outcome from process-seeking!! Thank you for sharing this – and thank you for hosting a Wonder Studio; how lucky your students are!!

Your final paragraph resonated strongly with me. Provide students with open ended activities and they will dazzle you with their creativity, curiosity, and ingenuity. Your students are fortunate that you have established this safe space for them.

Thank you! I am trying to show our faculty how important this space is. The kids know and they keep telling the adults how important it is to them to have time to create and not have adults come up with the project.
