Room to Read

September 27, 2020 ~ wordancerblog ~ 6 Comments

I love having the opportunity to read and write with children and figure out why they are having trouble. I calm my monkey mind and I focus in on the student reader.

Thanks, Mitch. I will be refining and expanding the poems probably into the summer. I want to give them to…

Thanks, Rita. That means a lot to me.

Day 17: Great poem; content is quite thought provoking, and the last line seals it so very well.

Day 16: Gorgeous inspiration line. I like the ambiguity in the last stanza, the not knowing—but suspecting—who “HE” is.

I see a lovely book of daily meditations for prayer taking shape here, Joanne.

    WOW!

I am so glad Lindsay and all the students have you. What a gift.

It’s amazing to know that you were not a reader at some point … And now look at you 😁

Your reading nest … And your mom’s response are golden.

Thanks SO much for sharing … And being you.

Your poem gave me chills. I love how our struggles can be redeemed to help others with similar struggles!

It feels so wonderful when someone understands our struggles. Then when that person remains committed to helping us overcome whatever obstacles are ahead. What a gift from Mrs. Skovron to you and from you to Lindsay. Beautiful encouragement makes me smile!

I actually told that story to a whole class of 4th graders. One girl asked me where Mrs. Skovron is now. I told them that she is in heaven reading. I looked up at the ceiling and said,” Thank you, Mrs. Skovron!” And they all looked up and waved at her without hesitation. I hope she was looking down and smiling!
