Listening Summer

July 10, 2021 ~ wordancerblog ~ 4 Comments

I am becoming more discerning of what I listen to.  I want beautiful noise: great books, beautiful music, uplifting advice.  To do this, first I had to get very, very quiet.

Wow, I love the specific details you give about how you have practiced this during the past six weeks. I need to regroup like this, as well. Today I was in the kitchen working and noticed how quiet it was. Usually, I listen to some talking head! Instead, though, when I realized how quiet it was, I purposely did not turn something on. I just enjoyed the quiet. Then I came here and read your post. I guess that is a message for me!

This is such a worthy goal…

Today it was a first, a chance besides my morning devotions to catch up and read your beautiful words. I love that you listened to your heart, telling you to slow down and turn off. My summer… hmm, I’ve been in a wild ride of caregiving for my dad, 95 yrs. I’m hoping in the next few weeks to listen and do some writing about this new era. I so desperately need the quiet right now. XO PS… I’m excited you will be teaching your kids about this also.
