Oh, this piece is so lovely. This is a line I want to remember, “I think I was put here to remember and record – to witness life, and to take it all in for myself and for others.” Thank you!

I love this poem, especially the repetition and the last line. Your reflection throughout this piece was so powerful and helped inspire me to take some time to think this way too.

Thank you, Julie. I’m really trying to be mindful of unplugging from school and putting my attention to writing and art. That way I can reinvigorate myself and reimagine teaching and learning for September!

What a sweet reflection and collection of memories that stay with us to help us heal and remember.

This entire entry is beautiful – touching – and grabbed me deeply. You really rocked my world with this passage: “Remembering is painful and sweet – both are necessary to grow. I think I was put here to remember and record – to witness life and to take it all in for myself and for others. The pain my father caused – those memories are part of my fabric. I used to want to unravel those threads, but I came to know that the pain was part of the design.”

Thank you for your willingness to be vulnerable.

Joanne, Memories which are painful and happy are what help make us who we are. You have always been caring. You are now expressing your thoughts so well. Thank you for sharing.
