Leaf Peepers

This weekend, my husband and I traveled north to New Hampshire to get our fill of fall foliage. We arrived just as the White Mountains were in full bloom so to speak. The trees were showing off their dazzling colors, and it was such a treat to witness this changing of the seasons. I love living in the northeast because I get to experience a change in all four seasons. Fall, I must admit, is my favorite. I love the coming of cooler weather, the colorful leaves, time for pumpkin and apple picking, and all the wonderful foods and flavors of this harvest season.

Though this first month of school has been hectic, I know that I must carve out time for myself to re-energize, keep my positivity filled, or at least not be drained beyond all comprehension. As soon as I saw the mountains, my shoulders dropped and my spirits soared. The beauty I saw was healing and restorative. I was reminded just how wondrous our little planet is, and that no matter how busy we are, our little blue and green Earth keeps on spinning. The rotating seasons and give us a splendid art show.

We took three days to chronicle fall in the White Mountains. We got to hike up to waterfalls, chase after wild turkeys, taste a range of fresh picked apples, and look into the night sky to see many more twinkly stars than we see in our more crowded suburban home. This brief escape gave me a renewed appreciate of all the autumn has to offer.
