This post was inspired by Stephanie Paterson who blogs at Steph Scrap Quilts. Her latest post was about her recent trip to Maine. She took us on a guided meditation of the beauty of the Sheepscot River in Maine. Her writing transported me back to Maine and the trip I took there last week. It was wonderful to return in my mind and find that peacefulness again. Steph’s blog title includes the subtitle: “”Our lives are connected by a thousand invisible threads…”. This is so true. Much of Steph’s writing and thoughts recently have mirrored my own. It’s a wonder how a stranger can feel so close to you. I’m grateful for her clear and honest writing.
As I wind down my summer travels and wind up for the school year, I am taking this time to return to Maine in photos and poetry. I hope these images inspire you to breathe, relax, and rejuvenate.

Maine Meditation Be here On the water Breathe in blue Exhale Be here Surrounded By evergreens Relax Be here In this wild place Feel the wind Rejuvenate Be here Feel the rhythm of the currents Flow Be here Mountains rising lift your eyes Calm your spirits
Dear kindred spirit, this is beautiful. “Breathe in blue…” Love the paradox of being both relaxed and invigorated. Maine pulls off this magic trick every summer. Thanks for sharing Bar Harbor through poetry and images.

What a beautiful structure you created here. Each verse of four short lines starts with “be here” and ends with an important verb. Lovely meditation.

This poem has a distinctively New England feel. It has been quite a few years, but I fell at home and at peace here.
